I am hearing at the B3D board of people "reviewing" X800XT boards already... is this FUD or has ATI changed their policy and sent out board samples more than 48 hours prior to their launch date??
I have only heard of the private "roadshow demos".
I'm just wondering...if Anand knew that the performance of the R420 cards isn't better than nVidia's nV40 would he be telling people to wait for the R420s??? I just hope that he does not know that because to me this "wait, wait" statement is pretty damn close to breaking an NDA. But on the other hand I don't get this NDA thing...what in the world could Ati be gaining by letting everybody wait for the expected performance of their cards while nVidias figures are out there?? My only explanation of that is that ATi doesn't want to show their performance - you hide what you ain't happy with. why even risk some fanatics->nVidiots turnovers if the performance is great??
Sorry to bother you again, I know you are super busy with all the school matters but I was wondering if perhaps you could address my query:
Is Anandtech ever going to review/test the Asetek Vapochill? I am suprised you guys have not yet. Is over the top/unncessary? I am thinking of buying one due to the increasing temps on newer processors, and wouldn't the Vapochill be a good long term cooling investment?
I have my doubts about the 800pro and its 12 pipelines going against a 16 pipeline nv40. But I'm never going to spend $499 on a graphics card in my life is it doesn't matter to me :). I'll wait even longer for PCI-E :p
